EJ Chalvet de Recy
Counsellor & Integrative Pyschotherapist
My work is informed by my passion for people. I am a great communicator and pride myself on my clinical work, my warmth, empathy and openness, and in building strong and trusting relationships. My own life experiences have given me a great insight into why people need a counselling relationship for support at certain times in their lives and how beneficial it can be to engage in a talking therapy.
About Me
I specialise in many areas of mental health such as bereavement and loss, issues relating to both weight and health - including eating disorders, depression, anxiety, anger, low self-worth, and both work and relationship stresses.

I am highly experienced in working with both loss and grief and consult at The Royal Trinity Hospice, London where I offer a deep and compassionate support for clients who are experiencing personal loss.

I have extensive experience in the fashion and media industry and have worked for many years with models of all ages, guiding them through a demanding and body conscious industry. I have helped them to address underlying problematic eating habits and to create a healthier relationship with food, and ultimately themselves.
I also work with HealthMatters Group offering clients a multi-disciplinary team approach to disordered eating which includes emotional, nutritional, weight and medical support.
My Approach
As an Integrative Psychotherapist I am able to draw on both Psychodynamic Theory, to understand how present day feelings and actions could be influenced by past experiences and learned behaviours; and Person-centred theory, which encourages an increased level of self-awareness which supports you in identifying and overcoming any emotional blocks you may be experiencing.
Services
In Person or Online Therapy Session
£80/50 minutes
I offer face to face sessions at my private practice in South West London.
If you would prefer to hold our sessions online, I am happy to meet over a secured Zoom link.
My private practice is in South West London and I work in-person and on-line. I offer new clients an initial telephone consultation to discuss what your goals for therapy are, why you are making contact and how we might work together.

There is no set length of time that therapy should take, this will depend on your level of need and the goals you wish to achieve. I offer a flexible treatment plan and ensure that I monitor my client progress regularly, however, your therapy is always tailored specifically for you.

Our work together will give you the chance to have someone, perhaps for the first time, listen to you and to provide you with the space to actively explore your life and to work on changes that can positively impact you moving forwards. I understand that choosing to engage in therapy, or to re-engage with a new therapist can be challenging, however, the positive benefits of therapy can outweigh these challenges.
